Whisk together the flour and baking soda. Place the butter, sugar and orange zest into a large mixing bowl. Beat until light and fluffy, about three minutes. Add the eggs, one at a time.

  3. You could make an orange syrup by combining 1cup of sugar with orange juice, stir on low heat until sugar has desolved, boil 5 minutes without stirring until slightly thickened, and pour over hot cake. I personally try to reduce sugar intake and hence directly use the fresh juice.
